Could someone help me pls ???

I have two problems:1.My game crashes every five minutes or so that i'm playing, i restart the game after that i load my saved game it crashes after another 5 minutes or so ; so i reboot my computer i restart the game and load my saved game and it crashes again after about 5 minutes .So what i'm asking here is if someone could help me find the solution to this. And an other thing i checked my drive for errors and then i defragmented the drive too.

2.I don't here the voice of the NPC's that are speaking to me!!! This is very annoying cause it ruins the fun for me that i can't hear the NPC speaking to me!!!I can just read the subtitles and that's like watching a movie on a big screen TV without sound and only the lips moving !!!It could be taht i'm missing files but i don't think so, cause i have the speech.VDF.
But they still don't speak.PLease someone HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impossible without your specs.

make sure sound is turned on in the gothic settings.
make sure sound is on in your system
make sure speakers are on.

as for game crashes, turn off all other programs when playing the game, and try lowering the quality of the game in gothics settings. If you still gotta problem try reinstalling gothic. Also take a look around on the foum for people who had similar problems to yours.

I had this problem also! You have to TURN OF your sound card!!!! Sorry, but this is the only known solution. After that enter Gothic.ini and change the line "soundenable - 1" to "soundenable - 0". The other way is to change your sound card

Okay, this is good news. No more crashes with disabled sound indicates that your sound card is causing the trouble.

Next thing to try is this:

Reinstall DirectX8.1, start DxDiag.exe and disable hardware acceleration for your sound device. If Gothic runs stable after that, with enabled sound, you can increase the acceleration step by step.

It might also be necessary to install new drivers for your SBLive! as a first step.

You´re welcome.

SBLive! drivers should be available at the manufacturer´s homepage.
