What's bigger than an asteroid, smaller than a planet, red all over and far, far away? The answer -- a mysterious planet-like body orbiting our Sun.
Kind of interesting news. To think that little dot in the first pictures is an actual planet. You can find more here. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Hmmm... it's about as big as Pluto, which is concidered a planet, plus it may have its own moon. I vote that it's a planet. _________________ Like some bold seer in a trance;

That's kinda cool. Looks like Mars isn't the only red planet in this solar system. heh _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-

And that's only about one year after the discovery of Quaoar, IIRC. Astronomers must really be concentrating on that part of space for the moment.
Now, Sedna.... Is that named after that goddess of sea, or is it just Andes spelled backwards? _________________ "Tree stuck in cat. Firemen baffled."--Simcity 3K

Sedna is indeed named after the (Inuit) Goddess of the Sea. However, at the moment the name is just a proposal - the final decision rests with the International Astronomical Union. They may change it to be more in-line with Greek/Roman mythology, but on the other hand they may decide it's time for a change and may leave it alone.
Personally I think Sedna's a fine name, but we'll just have to wait and see! _________________ Charlie Dobbie

I hope they will named it Zaphod, Marvin or Ford. Or Trillian. Yeah, that's a good name. Trillian... _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer

Yup, and if there is an 11th planet you'll want to call it ICQ or YIM ... |

What? No, why would I want to do that? ICQ or YIM are not really connected to the Hitchhiker. _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer

If the name has to be related to Hitchhikers, I'd like Sqornshellous Zeta, Golgafrincham, or Viltvodle VI. _________________ "Tree stuck in cat. Firemen baffled."--Simcity 3K

All fine and good names in my opinion. I mean, Pluto?? Who came up with the idea to name a planet after Mickeys dog? We should count ourselves lucky we don't live on Donald or Minnie or Goofy. Although Goofy would be pretty fun.

You are aware that Pluto was the god of the underworld long before Mickey stole the name for his puppy, right? _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Much like Pluto and it's "orbiting" "moon" Sharon, this "planet" is merely a comet. _________________ tired of people's shit |

Yes Val, I am aware. Still, it's a strange coincidence don't you think? I smell conspiracy. Walt and his guys probably saw it fit to do a little PR-coup in one way or another... _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer
