Some SW:KotOR (PC) Technical Support stuff

Here's a list of things to do with some technical issue of SW:KotOR (PC):

1) A list of known SW:Kotor (PC) issues can be found here:
http://www.bioware.com/games/knights_old_republic/support/known_issues/pc/

2) How to identify a possible issue with copy protection:
http://swforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html?topic=280659&forum=80

3) SW:KotOR (PC) 1.01 Patch:
http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/Kotor.htm (manual download)

Alternatively, you can hit the update button in your SW:KoTOR game and it will update itself.

NOTE!!:
If you used the 1.01 BETA patch, you must revert it back(by using the unpatch) to the retail version before patching it again with the official patch. Once your game version is reported as 1.00 on the launcher and 1.00.514058 in the update program, you are back to the retail version.

You can grab the unpatch to revert back to retail version from here:
http://swforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html?topic=289152&forum=80

4) Official support is provided by the publisher of the game, LucasArts. It will varies depending on where you live. A list of support contact information can be found here:
http://www.bioware.com/games/knights_old_republic/support/

Re: Some SW:KotOR (PC) Technical Support stuff

Do you have an e-mail address for the publisher? I want to ask them to put in keyboard mapping. At the very least, I want to let them know they have lost one sale because they don't have it.

But it may be the case that keyboard mapping can be accomplished by changing an .ini file or something like that. Where can I ask such a question?

Thanks.

I think you can ask your question in the Official SW:KoTOR(PC) forums. As you do not have the game yet, you can't post in the technical support forum so I guess the PC forum will have to do. Here's the link:

http://swforums.bioware.com/viewforum.html?forum=27

And the publisher of the game is LucusArts. Their website can be found at http://www.lucasarts.com

For ATI Users...

To avoid slowdowns on Dantooine edit the swkotor2.ini

insert

"Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" (without "")

in the <Graphic Options> section and everything runs fine.
