Morrowind might go gold today!

We received a press release from Ubi Soft Germany, announcing that the collectors edition will be available in Europe nearly at the same time as in the US. And they positively said that this will be in early May!

Now do your math and some thinking. They wouldn't release the info without being in contact with Bethesda. And Bethesda wouldn't allow this press release BEFORE they announce the game going gold (because you can calculate when the game would have to go gold for a early May release: these days).

So I expect to see an official announcement from Bethesda pretty soon. Within days, hours, minutes

release today

I quoted this in the #morrowind chatroom, here's a reply from a dev:

<Chappy_> gee, that's neat. Can I go home early, then?

I wouldn't expect a gone gold announcement yet, and I wouldn't think that it's gold yet either

Well, you might be right, but nevertheless I doubt that their european distrributor would quote an early May release date without having talked to Bethesda. And IF there is an early May release date, it would have to go gold PRETTY soon...

I'm going to wait for an official confirmation from Ubisoft in the US before I got cancel my pre-order in the states.
If it's true then I can buy the Collecters Edition here in Europe for the same amount of money that I would spend ordering the regular version in the US.

Would be really cool

Ubisoft is only publishing the game in Europe. Bethesda is publishing it in the US

We can all use a little hope in our lives and that seems to be what everyone has!

I am really hoping that the game is going gold today or tomorrow. I am not going to read too much into it however and will just quietly hope.

Here's to hope!

I wish that Bethesda would comment on this over at their official boards...

The devs have commented. The only official release date is may 2002. The devs themselves don't know any other date, as there is none.

Or put up the "gone gold" statement on the official website.
Either way, I need to hear confirmation from Bethesda (not Ubisoft US. thx guest ) that this is true.

There is a slight possibility that this is a miscommunication between developers and publishers, but otherwise I'd say that Ubi Soft should know...
