killing people

Hey, i was wondering about how Gothic2 used the thing with killing people. i played the demo through and every time that i beat up that guy by the cave, he just died, he didnt get knocked out, he just died. is this how it is with everyone in gohtic2?

i belive "Hostile" humans...you know ones who will attack w/out you attacking first are just killed outright..but people you can talk to lik villagers and what not wil be knocked out and then you can go for the coup de grace...at least that is what i read....

That is also what I heard. It seems the same applies to you; If you are attacked by a 'hostile' then you die instantly. I died when the cave guy knocked me out.

That's it. 'Evil' people die/kill you instantly, 'good' people don't.

If I remember correctly, you will get some kind of penalty fro beating up the merchants. Like, if you beat him up, he won't trade with you, ever again.

Murder & Mayham...

I think that slash and dash takes way from the game. I find it much more challenging to try and not get into a fight. I fight to survive another day, not to rape and pillage some poor 'ol farmer and his 'ol lady pick weeds in there garden. I met Wolf last night and he seems like a nice guy, even thought me how to use a bow...

I think that if someone attacks you first and you attack him back, he dies... And if you attack someone first he just... Falls down on the ground

oh well, i just think that if you decide to kick someones arse to get stuff, it adds realism to the game. just like Morrowind where if you knocked someone out, you could even take their armor.

yes..theres another good point about beating someone up in GII for there items, there is a almost real reaction. Unlike in GI when you could beat up anyone and wait until they got back up, talk to them, they would say a cheesy line like "ok ok you win". then if it was Aiden for instance he would teach you still how to get the claws and furs from animals.
