Hi there folks,
One simple question:
Does anyone know anything about a sequel of "RTK"? I liked "Betrayal", i loved "RETURN", ....maybe i missed the sequel.
Greetings

There isn't one yet, but there could be one in the future. Hopefully Raymond E. Feist is working on a deal with a new company to make a 3rd Krondor crpg. He better not get EA to do it though, that'd be a recipe for disaster.

Notice I said "hopefully" and not for sure. We can hope, can't we? Maybe rpgdot could do an exclusive interview with Mr. Feist and find out from the source.

I scanned a few Feist related sites after our last Krondor discussion and saw no such rumors.
Of course we can hope. |

Sierra got a lot of praise for Betrayal at Krondor; but they got the opposite for Return to Krondor. Return to Krondor was known as Return to Sender because of the mass returns of the game to Sierra. I doubt that Sierra will bring out that game again. I think they are in a financal bind right now, and haven't recovered since losing Dynamix

Thx for ur fast response.
For i am an absolute "Return to Krondor" fan
(played it 3 times from beginning to end), i was afraid of never see a sequel to RTK. Now at least there is hope that Mr. Feist will find a developer for his great stories. Actually i play Wizardry 8 (imported Version) for the second time, but soon M&M IX and HOMM IV will conquer my PC.
Cool forum here,
cya

I agree that Sierra probably won't do another Krondor game(their loss). But, Feist can always choose to go to another company to make more Krondor games. After all, he owns the rights, right?

Are you sure he still owns the rights? Maybe he licensed them to Sierra until 2050. |

2050? I doubt that. Even if Sierra still owns rights, Feist can always buy them back and look for a better company to work with. That's what I'd do if I were him.

Well, I loved Betrayal at Krondor, and subsequently I loved Feist's novels. I think I've never before been moved in such a way as in the ending of Betrayal at Krondor. Call me gay or something, but I was on the verge of crying (oh, okay, so call me homophobic, then ). I never got so far as try Return to Krondor, which I regret. I read Feist's books upto Rage of a Demon King, but then I sort of got tired. Did anyone read the books based on the computer game? Were they good? |

I love the krondor series...i think Betrayal was my first rpg!!! It was awesome...then i got atara...it was teribly buggy to the point that i couldn't play...becase of bugs that prevent me from playing when i am half way done DAMN YOU BUG!!!...And i didn't bother to get return to krondor...i think it will probebly suck...but i WILL get the next one...they prbebly learned their lesson from their last two releases..
