A question about death in Pool of Radiance

I bought a used copy of this game. It seems great, but I have a question. When a party member dies, his action icon remains. Is there a way to rejuvenate this character, or does his action icon disappear once the level is cleared?

Are you sure your party member is dead? When his/her health falls below 0, he/she fells on the ground and just pretends to be dead Character can stabilize, but can also die, if you won't heal him/her.

Though, I don't remember what happens to character's icon after death. Played this one about a year ago. Sorry
