Gothic 2 question from someone who just finished Gothic 1 |
|
I just finished Gothic 1. Loved it. Best 19.99 I have ever spent. My question is this: I understand that G2 starts right where the original game ended. Will you be able to import your character from Gothic 1? Should I save my saved games to be used in any way with Gothic 2? Thanks for your help. |

Taking from what can be seen in the trailer...
I am not too happy about the way things went for the G1 character...
I hope youre still allowed to play the same guy (the same character, not with imported stats). They didnt have to force you into play another character to make you weaker... I mean, the worst thing you dropped in G1 was the Troll... Why couldnt they just let us use the same guy and defeat dragons and stuff?
Best Regards

Last thing I saw of GII: you were the same character, yet with beginner's stats. The reason: amnesia, caused by falling rocks . _________________ Jaz |

I seen that too. The original rumours told us that the story would be about an evil god that wasnt to happy when its 'pet' the sleeper got whupped by the character. I had the idea that the character actually died, but the "good gods" had ressurected him to again fight the sleeper, and that you would realise this after a few chapters...
Only a wild speculation thou.
But ofcourse, it might be something so simple as amnesia from falling rocks.

I need to see that before I believe it
Anyway, the thing with you forgeting everything, AND everybody, kind' a sucks.. But, OK, we agreed we forgave them .
How strange would a rendezvous with one of the old character be, I wonder! Will anybody care to refresh your memory a bit; possibly Xardas at the beginning? |

Yes, they do fill you in - depending on whether you tell them that you remember them or not. And Xardas does tell you something about the happenings in the beginning. _________________ Jaz |

If you were stuck under a pile of rocks for a few months, then you'd "forget" your muscles too. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

The character is stuck under the rocks for several months? I thought that for 3 hours or something. There is Xardas near you so he should rescue you imidietly. |

The amount of time the hero is trapped is said to be 6 months. Some say he barely survives because he is protected and sustained by his magic armor. I've read elsewhere that he actually dies and is brought back to life. I guess we'll have to wait for our esteemed German friends to play the first hour of the game, then come back and tell us poor saps waiting for the other versions how it all goes down. _________________ Freeeeeeedom!
