I've been sort of browsin the internet lately, and stumbled across the official world of warcraft sight. ( http://www.worldofwarcraft.com ) For what i have seen, it looks pretty damn cool. Ive read the entire FAQ, and seen a cinematic and a gameplay movie so far. (they just released another one, downloadin it now ) What do other people think of this. Im lookin forward to bein in an orc clan and trompin around killin humans that stand in our way. Have other people seen this? Any feedback or info/opinions of this game would be great. Catch ya lata,

I’ve been a Warcraft fan since day one, and I’ll definitely pre-order it once WoW is released, but that will probably be a very long wait. They are shooting for a 4th quarter beta, and a 1st quarter ‘04 release, but blizzard is always late. So I’m not really expecting it until summer of next year or later.
BTW I did a rewrite of the Journal of Brann in case you’re interested. Here. |

Yeah, I've been following it for a pretty long time now.
I like the instancing feature in the game, and the rituals.
However, I'm pretty sure it will be a PvE game, so no orcs clubbing down humans... _________________ Like some bold seer in a trance;

Warcraft3 will revolutionize and redefine the MMORPG genre in a way no other game ever has, and ever will. It will be the Alpha, and the Omega. It shall be the Yin, yet also the Yang. It will make the old young again, and bring the young to manhood

Personally, I haven't heard anything about WoW that will revolutionize the genre... Maybe I didn't hear about the feature you're talking about? I just think WoW will certainly be a fun game, but as of yet I have no reson to think it will be revolutionary.
From the WoW website, about the game's features:
- Adventure together with thousands of other players simultaneously.
- Create and customize your own hero from the unique races and classes of the Warcraft universe.
- Explore an expansive world with miles of forests, deserts, snow-blown mountains, and other exotic lands.
- Visit huge cities and delve through dozens of vast dungeons.
- Enjoy hundreds of hours of gameplay with new quests, items, and adventures every month.
Haven't I done all this allready? Oh, of course I never did it within the Warcraft Universe....
Again, I'm not implying WoW won't be a good game, just trying to say that you can't put too much hope yet on a game that's still probably a year (if not much more) away from release.... _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

* agrees with Ekim *
sorry, but WoW doesnt peak my interest. it just doesnt cut it for me. i look for mmorpgs that advance the genre, not games that are a cut and paste mmorpg clone that doesnt offer anything new or exciting other than nice graphics. like Ekim said, there isnt anything new in this game. is anyone up for some stale bread? |

Still, that doesn't mean WoW won't be any good.... And I wouldn't be so fast in calling it "stale bread" . The game is still at least a year from release! It could surprise us before the end. _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

hey stale bread is pretty good with spoiled milk
so what! its just my opinion! i can name 7+ other future mmorpgs i will rather be playing by the time that stale fruitcake of a game gets thrown into my flaming fireplace! but that doesnt mean it wont be popular; but then, not everything thats popular is any good, such as beer. Beer sucks. but thats just my cat's opinion. |
