Jowood bringing penguin abuse to a computer near you? |

I was as addicted to Pengu Throw as anyone, but I don’t see exactly how they’re going to pull this off.

I wouldn't be surprised if the game doesn't sell as well as they hope... _________________ If soot stains your tunic, dye it black. This is vengeance.

Brilliant move from both sides.
This yeti sports got a huge following worldwide. JoWooD has a highly qualified studio for casual games - in Vienna. Neighbours from Hell 1 + 2, Pusher and Itch! didn´t receive much buzz, but the bit they got was very positive. Plus all these games were more or less bug free. Download the Itch! demo if there is an English one. Took me 10 minutes to understand it, but then I was completely addicted.
This is the perfect fit. Quick communication, qualified devs, existing market leverage for casual games and the chance to make a lot of money with a known brand.
The mechanism to earn money with this is quite simple. You create 3 versions of the game:
The small one is given away for free as a teaser.
The medium one is sold for 5 EUR as a download via several media cooperation partners (in Germany BILD, T-Online and maybe a TV channel). These partners create hype. 10 Mio people per day will read in Bild that you have to play Yeti Sports to be as cool as [insert generic pop star here].
The big version is sold retail _everywhere_ for 10 EUR.
The whole thing starts again 4-6 months later. JoWooD can easily sell 100k per cycle of this in Germany alone. If they´re clever they put a flyer for their other casual games in it. Then add merchandizing, etc.
The trick is that the most difficult thing has already been done. The brand is very popular.
And who wouldn´t at least consider buying a highly polished Yeti Sports game which can be played without installation directly from the CD, with online ladder support and some really creative gimmicks? _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I am curious, who started the whole yeti mania in the first place? Is it known who created all those flash games? |

MY GOD!!
they're evil geniouses!!!! and to think all those hours i spent mindlessly smacking a penguin around i was actually taking part in an elaborate capitalist plot implemented by some soulless corporation to dominate the minds and wallets of all free thinking people in germany...and eventually the world!
