DragonLance.....The Movie.....I have the info.

I have information on this subject. I know for a fact that the option for the rights of the movie have been sold....to whom I do not know but I do know that Weis and Hickman are not happy. What more info? Mail me about it, I will let you know what I do.

Why not post your sources here, rather than giving us "soap opera" tidbits? Has development started? Live action or CG or hybrid? Named actors? War of the Lance or another period?

Rumors of a Dragonlance movie have been floating about since 1994. At first fans wanted it to be animated, since special effects couldn't match the imagry. Then CGI made good special effects affordable to everyone.

On the official forums of Wizards of the Coast something like... um... a year and a half or so ago... Margaret Weis confirmed that the rights have been optioned to a big budget company. That's all, really.

Recently (heh... July... was it that long ago already?) a staff member for Wizards of the Coast, Peter Archer, said basically the same thing, setting the net aflame once more. He added that the studio involved was NOT New Line Cinema, who did the first D&D movie as well as are the ones doing the sequel. Which is a pity, as New Line also did Lord of the Rings. Writers and directors, people... don't shoot the production company. He also said that the first movie - IF EVER PRODUCED - would, logically, be Dragons of Autumn Twighlight.

If you're interested in keeping tabs on the rumor mill and such, check out www.dragonlance-movie.com ... the poor guys there get maybe one tidbit of news a year so they never miss that one tidbit.
