RING - Help!

I know Ring (The Legend of the Niebelungen) is a fairly old(ish) game but I'm stuck and need a hand.
I'm playing my first character - Alberich - and I've ridden my motorbike (Love the 'Glug' motor btw ) and arrived at the control panel and brought up the plans. I know I need to move a pipe somewhere, but which pipe goes where? It seems that there're only two things to move - the yellow pipe can be moved from horizontal to vertical(ish) and the yellow block can be moved up or down, to let the water(?) flow thru the blue pipe. But whenever I go back down again, nothing's changed - no new rails for me to ride my 'bike on. What's supposed to happen?
Can anyone help me please?

Nibelungen with a motorbike? What did they replace the dragon with?

This game is an adventure, afaik. Maybe you should google for a walkthrough.

Lol. Yeah, but it's not just any sort of m'bike
Anyway....... wouldn't you know it. As soon as I'd posted this I found the answer - ain't it always the way. Now I'm stuck a bit further along, lol.
Yeah, I found a walkthru, but I think it's been translated and leaves a lot to be desired And it seems to be the only one available.
I figured it was more of an adventure game, but the music is fantastic - Wagner no less - and it's draggin' me in. So far, it's a great game! fabulous visuals.
If anyone has any idea where I might try for a different walkthru, giz a yell. Ta!
