Encanting Q # 2

How do you enchant an item with two or more things? When i try to enchant my ebony staff, after i absorb health spell it still has several enchantment points left, so i add fire damage then i click on buy and it only buys the absorb one

Have you tried enchanting one effect, buying it, then adding another effect? Not sure if that's how to do it, cause I usually only have one effect, but I've read of others creating multiple effects.

No! dont try that, you are going to mess up your item. You cant enchant already enchanted items.

When you add 2 spells maybe the item cant hold that much enchantment? like its max is 120 and you put 130. ?

might be that. I never enchanted one item with 2 stuff...always seems better to use 2 items

Ya, always try to fill up the items points on the first enchanting because if you don't they go to waste.

When you click on the fire damage does a window pop up for range, duration, and area? It should... if not then your game might be corrupt somehow.

Does it only do this with fire? How many enchantment points were left on the staff when you tried to add fire? Each enchantment has a minimum amount of points it needs in order to fit into the item. So if you put 80/90 of your available points into absorb health when you try to click on fire damage you will exceed your limit because even 0 fire damage requires more than 10 enchantment points.

Also, your better off sticking only one enchantment on an item. For the simple reason that you will get more out the effect than if you put multiple effects on the item.

Example: I enchanted an ebony staff with 90 points of constant night eye.
Later, I decided I could do with less night eye but needed someplace to stick at least one point of slowfall. So I got another ebony staff and put 1 point of constant slowfall on it. Then I filled up the rest of the enchantment points with night eye. I could only get 60 points of night eye into the staff while I had the 1 point of slowfall.

So you see, you can lose as much as 1/3 of your maximum enchantment per additional enchantment. I ended up making the doulbe effect staff anyway because like I said... I really didn't need 90 night eye and I really needed the slowfall. But it would have been more eficient to have made a seperate item for the slowfall and kept the 90 NE staff.
