Time for the daily question!!
In other games when you're low on health, say 50 hit points left out of 100 and you drink a potion that restores 100 the whole thing goes away. Well in DS when you drink that potion only 50 points of the potion are drunk, and the other 50 remain in the bottle to drink another time. All the potion bottles are on a point by point system so you can start drinking once you're one HP below max.
I've heard some people complain that it takes away some "strategy" of the game by being able to throw back potions and not worry about "wasting" them.
What do you think?

I think it doesn't matter, really, for gameplay. It looks like they're moving the gameplay focus away from little details like this. You can also drink potions with the game paused, so potions really can be considered to be an extension to your hitpoints/mana... |

But it seems logical to me.
Why in other games you can not drink only half of bottle of something?

So, if I only drink half of my milk every morning, I will only start my day with half the energy I used to. Sounds logically. |

Oh my god, if you think that being able to throw down potions and not use 1 per drink is a bad thing then you obviously haven tried to get travel between towns. I have a melee character with 1400hps and always go out with an inventory full of pots, and am usually empty after 30-40 miles/kilometres whatever. If I used one pot per drink I would only be able to travel half the distance, and when you have to travel 350 clicks, pot conservation is so important its not funny |

I love potions system, imho it's much better than any diablo-like systems. Anyway, I have 2 packmules dedicated to life and mana potions (too many btw, "half" of the mule is what I use between "towns". I usually heal myself by magic - less magic potions required and nature magic skill nicely increasing). |

I agree with Soltys, the potion system is wonderful! It's so nice (and logical ) to just use what you want and just save the rest. It drives me crazy to either waste a potion because your health wasn't low enough or stop before you're full so that you won't waste one.
