I'm no expert but from what I've heard they will both run Morrowind just fine.
The Geforce 4 Ti series (NOT the Geforce4 MX) will probabaly run it even better.

Personally I will upgrade to either a Geforce 3 or 4 because I'm very happy with my current Geforce 2 card.

It sounds like they both will be pretty comparable. Go with whichever you prefer and can afford.

I have the All in Wonder 8500 myself. I opted for it because it has extra features I am interested in like TV tuner, DVD, video capture, all on one board and because ATI has, imo, better 2D than Nvidia in general.

Yeah, they both will run the game just fine. The geforces are directx 8 compliant and the 8500s are directx 8.1 compliant and that's what's required to get those wondrous water effects.

I think GeForce 3/4 Ti
~OR~
ATI Radeon 8500...

alas..both are too ^$ for me right now..

If you just want the card, no extras.. no TV tuner, no Svideo, no motion capture inputs or anything like that...are these cards feasible?? I mean, I don't want to spend an extra $100 for something I'll never use!

I'm on a GeForce 2 GTS (32Mb) now...it's really been fine for a year. I guess that's about the life expectancy if you want to stay on the edge of software capabilities..

It doesn't have to be 'Ti'

And there are cards without those extras. I guess MSI has them.

Unless I'm mistaken, a GeForce 4 MX version will NOT give the water effects....

Cards that will give you the nice water:

Any Geforce 3.
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (comes out end of April), 4400 or the 4600.
ATI Radeon 8500.

The one Geforce 4 card that DOES NOT give you the nice water are the Geforce 4 MX ones. They're basicly a beefed up Geforce 2.
So anything that has MX in it's name WILL NOT give you the nice water.

Hope this helped

The 8500 is better than the GeForce3 Ti 200, but the Ti500 is way better than the 8500.

Around the middle of this month the GeForce4 Ti4200 will hit the market, it'll be the best card for the money. I'd wait for that card before you upgrade.
