Does the game (from gogamers.com/English Version) come with a map of the world/land in Gothic 2 and is the land of Gothic included as part of Gothic 2? How much of it if not all? _________________ I am the founder and former leader of a guild in EQ, retired member of The Code in EQ, original member of KOE in AOE2, past Corporal of EVO in MOHAA, respected veteran of UT 2003, a conquerer of all decent games, and an aspiring game developer.

Well, I didn't buy it there, but my English version G2 did not contain a map. |

The Gothic 1 lands are included - not everything though. The Swamp Camp is not for reasons you'll see for yourself. _________________ Jaz |

It would have been nice to get a map with the game.
One of the most annoying things about the gameplay, maybe THE most annoying thing, is that you cant make notes on the map in-game. That really, really sucks. The world is pretty damn big, with lots of places to explore, and it would help a lot if you could make a note regarding places to check out in a few levels, or stuff to go back for.

The ingame map is implemented poorly. It has a noticeable delay in coming up, and you cant notate it. Given that, a paper map would be much preferred, at least by me, as 1) I could notate it and 2) there is no delay in glancing down at my desk.

I agree about having a map one could mark…a Mod perhaps? While in map mode, the mouse would work as a pointing device (go figure). By clicking on a spot, it would open two text boxes. The first being the title and the second allowing you to enter so many characters of text as a descriptor. _________________ "That one hurt..."

How come you´re posting so much stuff from the German boards if you don´t understand the language?
The LE doesn´t include a large map. It has been replaced by a poster. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I admit that map viewing is a little slow in G2 but to me it adds a little more reality to the game. After all…if you were trekking cross country, your map would be either folded in your pack/shirt or rolled up in and stuffed in a leather tube. In either case, it would take some time to open it up orient it to your loadstone compass. Map reading and speed just don’t fit together. _________________ "That one hurt..."

Yes, the map freaking has a delay that pisses me off.
It's like it has to take extra time to figure out where you are to bring up your arrow.
As far as saying that it takes "long" to get a map out, it doesn't.
Of course if you're going to use that route then why have a icon on the map of where you are?
I wish the map also had important places marked!
like maybe little icons on it in places, and you could clicka nd it would tell what it was, whether it was a character or a shop, etc. |

or an option that would show you the shortest route along the roads to a selected location that would save tons of time instead of teying to figure out if its a road or a light spot on the map that im looking at |
