Fighter is a good, solid choice. The game gives all sorts of goodies out to make fighters largely invincible. Just keep a weapon that deals each type of elemental damage around and slash your way to glory!

Once you get into it more you might want to try and join the MP side of it. I would be glad to help you on the server PW or load a mod for you to get your feet wet. I found MP with friends was so much more fun.

You could join Cm and I tomorrow in our little Saturday MP session if you like. It would start in the evening for you.

Server details are always posted in the NWN game forum. We have v1.66 with all expansions and cep 1.51. There is always a PW running when game sessions including the private ones are not being held. Glad to have anyone join us anytime.

Sorry, but I'm unable to join MP. I have dial-up moded connection (probably too slow and too expensive as you pay per minute).
I'm thinking of getting new connection, so I'll consider NWN MP later.

You'll find the Deluxe release is version 1.59.8037. I patched it up to the current 1.66 this weekend, and it was a 47-odd MB download. On top of that, you need the "EOB HAK Pack" which weighs in at 105MB, zipped.

If you do decide to join in regardless of the play-time costs, it's probably best to get the patches and whatnot from a friend with broadband. The cost of downloading that lot would be astronomical!

I play some NWN on my trusty 28.8 connectiong and it plays pretty well. Mostly I've play with friends who are hosting it on a cable connection, but sometimes I try out a some of the other online servers. Give it a shot and see how it goes. You must update to 1.66 and have the lasted CEP (Community Expension Pack) to get on most online servers. Have a fun!

Czech distributor included self-burned non-labeled disc with 1.65 patch and with everything needed for MP. Very good step, there's a lot of us with slow connection here and the patches are huge.

I still need to upgrade from 1.65 to 1.66 to be able to play on your server, I think.

@ Danichek You would need the CEP and 1.66 for the Dot sever. The EOB hak for the current mod is massive. But if you can do like L_B suggested it will save you. Best bet is when you get the upgrades and CEP, check out your connection to the server by logging in the PW. If that moves well for you, then you know you can at least try our sessions on Sat. as well.

@L_B Why don't you pop in on Saturday as well!

I'll consider that.

Btw, I just spent two feat points for None -> Cleave -> Great Cleave during one level up. And well, it really works great, especially against large groups of weak enemies (fire beatles, weak zombies). Fight that took long is now matter of one or two rounds. 4 or 5 enemies dead during 'one' hit is really great.

@Lintra, Yes, exactly, I really like it.

Btw, what is most likely the level I'll reach at the end of this game? (I'm now level 5). I mean, the leveling up is so far real fun in this game. I really look forward to new feats, as they can bring real improvement.

However I guess, the leveling up is so much fun because it is quite rare :]. One would like to level up every 5 minutes but this would spoil the fun :].

I didn't go back and clear out areas repeatedly and I made it to level 18 with the character I did the review on the game with.

When done with the original game make a new character for Shadows of Undrentide... it's a module based around leveling a character from 1 (3 is better) to 14. Or just go right to Hordes of the Underdark with your character from the original campaign (but Shadows is fun).
