Do you think I could play it on my PC? |
|
The system requirements for the game are listed as follows: P3 1Ghz, 256mb RAM, 32mb 3d card. My current PC (I'm working on a new one, but it will be awhile before completion) is a P3 933mhz with 384mb RAM and a 32mb GeForce 2 . Do you think I could run this game? My processor is close to 1Ghz, and my RAM goes over the requirements, so should I buy it? I really want it. _________________ OMG! WTF?! MONKEYS!!!!

I'd say Yes - but be patient with slowdowns. Here's the text from the Readme about your GF2 MX video:
quote:
NVIDIA GeForce 2, GeForce 2 MX, and GeForce 4 MX Chipsets
When playing Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic™ on a card with one of these chipsets, you may experience the following issues:
· The blue tint on the graphic filter used when Carth speaks on the communicator may not display correctly.
· Smoke effects may severely impact framerate when playing at 1600x1200. If this occurs, we recommend that you select a lower resolution.
· You may see lines around buttons and dialog boxes when FSAA or Anisotropic Filtering is enabled. If this occurs, we recommend that you disable these features.
· Performance may be slow during combat. This was commonly seen on GeForce 2 MX cards.
· You may experience missing textures on character models when playing the game with High Textures enabled. If this occurs, lowering your texture settings should resolve this issue.
· Textures may drop out or they may display incorrectly when playing at 1600x1200. If this occurs, we recommend that you select a lower resolution.
· You may lock up at a black screen after selecting 1600x1200 for the Screen Resolution.
Some annoyances there but nothing terminal. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

I played witha g4mx 420 32mb and no problems.
I would definitely get it actually. Its old hat to me now, but looking back it was actually the most involved Ive been in a game since planescape torment.
I would say its a cant miss game. After a kind of slow start it gets really cool. It was not at all how I pictured it to be also, the story throws a curve ball at you. |
