Lazarus Update

The pre-version 1.2 testing version is now being played by the testers. It's looking good and the final public release should only be a couple of weeks away. There have been some minor changes, but we'll wait for the official release before announcing them.

Is it worthwhile to buy Dungeon Siege (even at a bargain price) just to be able to play Lazarus, as I'm not interested in DS1 itself (am plowing my way through the sequel -- can't stand the overspawning of monsters) ?

Absolutely!! If you have any good memories of Ultima 5, then this is a necessity. Best remake ever!!

All right, I'm nearly completely convinced.
No, I never played U5; my only Ultima experience, besides the bastardized conversions of a couple of titles on the NES a long time ago (fun games when you're twelve), is with Martian Dreams.
Thanks for replying.

Lazarus is worth every penny you'll spend on Dungeon Siege and then some.

I bought it; I'm now waiting for Lazarus to rise again (1.2).

I also don't own Dungeon Seige, though I'm considering getting it, if only to play Lazarus. Out of curiosity, how faithful is it to the original?

It is EXTREMELY faithful to the original, within the limitations of the DS engine. That means no magic carpet, and you can't move the moonstones. Other than that, nothing has changed. In fact, some extra NPC's and quests have been added and all the original ones are still there.
