Morrowind will keep you busy for a long time. Longer than any other games probably. _________________ Arguing over the internet is like competing in special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded. |

What kind of games do you like in general? If you're into strategy or adventure games, you might prefer point & click and/or party-based stuff like Baldur's Gate 1/2, Fallout 1/2, Planescape:Torment, Neverwinter Nights.
If you're more into FPS and action games, I'd go for something like Arx Fatalis, Deus Ex, Gothic 1/2, or System Shock 2 (SS2 is more action than RPG, but excellent nonetheless).
If you're after a good story above all, Planescape is probably the best bet IMO. My personal favourite RPGs are Ultima Underworld 1 and 2... these are old DOS games, but they can be made to run in Win9x/XP quite easily. Well worth a look if you don't mind old-fashioned graphics. |

I would play Arx, then G1 and G2, then Neverwinter. That should take you about a year. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

The poor guy said he's off from school! That will take him a month. Maybe two. _________________ If soot stains your tunic, dye it black. This is vengeance.

Not if he plays like I do. I do tend to die more times than a 66 ford. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

In April I'll have been out of school for a year. I'm sorry, DarkWeaver, but there is NO game that will fill the sea of time you are swimming in! NONE!!!
I was going to explain some difficulties I had with staying occupied but I figured you'd all just think I was crazy... _________________ If soot stains your tunic, dye it black. This is vengeance.

He meant what kind of RPGs you like to play. We could list 50 good RPGs but half of them probably wouldn´t fit your taste. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I didn't really take that part in... out of school for a year, with nowt better to do than play videogames? There was none o' that when I were a lad! We had to go to school from 6am til 10pm every day (except sunday, when we had to scrub t' swimmin' pool wi' a pipecleaner), without a single day off til we were twenty-eight, and we'd be caned accross the teeth 60 times for each minute we were late... and t' headmaster had hounds trained to gnaw on our thumbs if we even mentioned a videogame.
Ahem. Perhaps I'm exaggerating slightly. (For true tales of hardship, check out Monty Python's Four Yorkshiremen sketch - the link seems a bit slow).
DarkWeaver, just out of curiosity, what is your favourite RPG? |

By "he" do you mean me? If so, I actually did mean any type of game... I wanted to get a broad picture in case DarkWeaver hadn't played many RPGs (couldn't really tell from the first post).

Well, I guess that's Morrowind, Arx and Deus Ex out of the question. And System Shock 2. Of the rest, I reckon Planescape:Torment is the best, Fallout's great too, Neverwinter Nights will be good if you want to do some multiplayer or modding (not too sure about the official singleplayer campaign, but I know it has some interesting free downloadable modules, like Witch's Wake and some Ultima remakes). |
