*Maybe Spoiler* Just a consideration

FIRST: i don't know if this could be a spoiler so i hope the mods could help me and if it is not a spoiler change the title, thanks!

This consideration came to me with the power of a thunder. Little de-brief before: i'm now in the second chapter and i've done the very long quest of the archeological site, going down and down in the deep caves... so i've seen a lot of things about the game system... and then i've found a thing that miss and it should be there!
There aren't secret passages!!! NO ONE! I've played D&D since i was 12 and the secret passages are one most beautiful things they put in the game... i remember always the joy and the fun in finding a s.p. and the anxiety i feel waiting that the DM describes what lies behind it... i don't know if in the 3rd ed. there aren't at all (i stop playing with the 2nd...) but i think it's not soo impossible to create them in NWN after what i've seen they've done...
What you're opinion?
Am i just a nostalgic?

It's not a 3e problem, it's a NWN game engine problem, and it's been criticised profusely so far. No, there is no way to put a secret door anywhere in a module, the game engine doesn't allow it. Maybe through a patch one day, but I doubt it. I think it's has to do with the tile sets. Maybe they could create a special painting tool to make a door that would take the properties of the wall on which it's put. I don't know...

In the mean time, the only way I found to effectively put a "secret" door in this game is to hide the door behind bookshelves, or any other tall object, and not identify the said door on the player's map. And it seems to work because most players don't see it at first glance, they have to really look at it to see it. Unfortunately you can't make it so only proficient players may find it, but it still works. They'll have to bash and destroy the shelves you put there so they can get to the door. It's simple, but it works
