Same problem here,Gothic is freezing after the logo screen. My friend has the same problem.
I'm very angry cause I didn't spend my money for a game that I'm able to play it only for a few months!
My sys:Athlon Xp,GF4 Ti(28.32 drivers also tried with 29.42 but no change),640 mb sdram,Win Me.
I've tried all the solutions around here and also tried with 1.08 k but still nothing.
Does anyone found a fix to this problem??

If I remember correctly (this was a long while back) I read somewhere (here) that too much RAM could cause some problems.

Oop, here it is.

I've tried that but still nothing, like someone said I think there is a problem with the DirectX 8.1 and Gf 3,4 cards or even the sound cards.
I have sound on-board(AC97) and if I change in the Audio Properties at the Sound Playback section to Game Compatible the game works but with a very crapy sound.
Anyway I've mailed PB and I hope they will help me a little bit.
