How do I 'start' the ship/boat?

Ok, i've got my members and crew, i've talk to gririon and i promise to give back the ship and he let me use it. But how do i actually 'use' the ship? I found a room that is locked on the boat, so i'm assuming I need to find the key........ heeeeelp

Did you talk to the captain, who will give you the key to the cabin?
