Help me -- Game Won't Install!

Hi,

Just bought DS yesterday and haven't been able to install it. I'm installing on a Win XP home system, p4, 1.7ghz, 768m dram, geforce 2 (with latest drivers installed of course) and a soundblaster live (updated).

While installing it will get to around 33% complete when it's trying to install objects.dsres. It gives me a "Disk error", and tells me to make sure there's enough disk space (40+ gigs left), or that the file isn't in use.

I've never gotten beyond this point without ignoring the file, which of course won't ever allow the game to run, but then it hangs on the voices.dsres, and several other .dsres files.

It appears that it isn't even writing data when it gives me the error, it's still reading from the cd when it errors out...

Please tell me what I can do to get this game up & running.....I had more fun playing the demo than I thought I would and now I'm jonesing for some more....

is your CD a pirated one?

If not pirated go back to change it with the shopkeeper

If it's a pirated one, also change it with the shopkeeper

Yes, if there are not know issues like this.
Try to clean CD (even small "mote" can sometimes cause big problems) and if it will not help, then returen it.

Re: Pirated CD

No, it's not a pirated CD, I purchased it at Best Buy.... I'll give it a quick clean, but there's not so much as a fingerprint on in right now. If that doesn't work, back to Best Buy...

Figures I'd grab the defective one....

Thanks
