" Technical Details
° The engine will not be based on GeForce 3
° The Gothic II engine won't be - as had been suspected - Phenomedia's CodeCreatures but a revamped version of the 'old' Gothic engine which makes better use of hardware (environmental mapping, detail textures...)
° The world has technically been cut in half so you won't be required to have at least 512MB RAM in your system; due to streaming technology loading times should be considerably shorter
° Hardware requirements for getting the nicest effects would be a PIII and a GeForce 3 with 32 MB RAM "

Your system isn´t that bad. You´re only lacking CPU power. Just wait and see. If Gothic 2 is really too slow you should ebay your machine and get a new one or at least replace mainboard, cpu, cooler and power supply. Buy the cheapest (new) AthlonXP you can find. Will double or triple your performance. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I had a very similar and old computer when playing Gothic and it was slow
loading, the game started for about 2 mins but now I have it a lot better
[ the game starts for 9-20 sec ]. But I dont know how Gothic 2 will run with yours , I was scared myself thinking of Gothic 2 not working on my old comp...
Well good luck. _________________ =Member of the RPGDot Shadows=

Yeah hope it will work on older comp. too!
Oh very sorry, off-topic but I just realized and have to say this:
I really really hope that Gothic II will have more cut-scenes!! _________________ =Member of the RPGDot Shadows=

Cut Scenes?
No, no. They were added videos that the CPU pulls off the harddrive. Cutscenes are taken while the game is in play. Videos are pre-recorded. Otherwise, I agree. I'd rather have cut scenes then real-time videos... _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."
