That's why I created this thread in the first place - Gothic will always have a few secrets here and there, unless we start gathering them from all the players. We've been analyzing these games for years now, and still we find out new stuff. All this talk about Gothic makes me want to play them again in fact!

Lol, you believe what you want and justify it how ever you want

Isn't that the point of defending your opinion?!

Depends on your perception I guess, not that I have a clue about G3, just going by G1 & G2 can you name an evil thing he has done?

PB may decide to change the direction...

I didn't call him a bad guy, mind you. Things aren't so black and white as we might want to be. He is not completely good, but does that make him bad (or vice versa)? That's the question.

That's easy and Xardas even tells you that in the end. Only the hero is strong enough to defeat the undead dragon, so Xardas needs you because he wants the dragon's power. Killing everybody on the ship would make the hero pretty pretty suspicious about the real plans of Xardas, the hero wouldn't want to kill the dragon and Xardas wouldn't get his powers.

This has nothing to do with Xardas being good or evil. The Undead Dragon wanted to kill the Hero, that's correct. Xardas only wanted power.

And in the end, PB decides that a different story would be much more fun, because they already had the hero and Xardas for two whole games. So in G3 you play a pink bunny that has to kill the ice-cream man.

Did you know that:
"I could build a house brick by brick in less time I spend playing gothic1&2?"
"Gothic1&2 would be more fun if ,instead of that boring music you listen to at the background ,you could edit your own favorite songs."
"Two-Handed weapons are a joke. Some One-Handed swords make the same damage at the same distance as the two handed."
"In gothic 2 you start a conversation with a sheep???WTF???"
"In gothic 2 in certain guild you have to kill two guards that harass a farmer.Instead of just killing them just try to talk to them first and pickpocket them for more experience points."

I come from space from outer space

- Hehe, yeah, I know! Well put!

"Gothic1&2 would be more fun if ,instead of that boring music you listen to at the background ,you could edit your own favorite songs."
- I like the mood in G1-2. One of the few games where I don't shut down the music and put on some of my own(in my other CD-Rom with headset output).

"Two-Handed weapons are a joke. Some One-Handed swords make the same damage at the same distance as the two handed."
- The 60%+ combo with the 2h weapon is as good as the 1h weapon combo, and with far better damage(the 150+ dmg weapons(add-on) are only for 2h).

"In gothic 2 you start a conversation with a sheep???WTF???"
- Didn't really like that part myself. Our nameless hero speaking to a sheep..?

"In gothic 2 in certain guild you have to kill two guards that harass a farmer.Instead of just killing them just try to talk to them first and pickpocket them for more experience points."
- Never did that, nice one!

Also, Sem? I agree with your every point. The black/white point of yours is one of the things I have been trying to prove for a long time about the Gothic story, but you said it much better than me:
"I didn't call him a bad guy, mind you. Things aren't so black and white as we might want to be. He is not completely good, but does that make him bad (or vice versa)? That's the question."

After the whole thing with Xardas I am convinced we will see more such twists in the next game.
