Bloodhounds?

Does anyone know why there aren't any bloodhounds anymore in Gothic II ?
There were several in Gothic, why did the developpers remove them from the game?

They're back in the expansion, and still as annoying as they used to be, hehe.

Yup, and still do the same block-forever trick. I never quite understood why they give the same XP as a regular snapper. They're way tougher!
