I'm alive and well in Arnika

Just made it to Arnika (I really play slow). I just rescued Vi and quite truthfully, I don't need her or Miles in my party. I am going to complete the Vi quest and dump them both. I arrived at Arnika with my crew at level 13 and 14. The monsters are considerably stronger the second time around. Especially since I'm a lot stronger.

Congrats Max,

you have very strong party. Usually people arive to Martens Bluff or at least to Swamps when their characters are on such level.
Critical fights creatures will stay on same level and when you arive to them with high level, your life will be much easier and their life will be much shorter .

I'm also a slow RPG player...or a "builder"...I like having high levels. I'm glad that this game matches the challenge to your level. I think you have me beat though, because I just got to Trynton (I started over once) and my characters are around level 10. I think in my Mage game (see thread "My Next Party") I'm going to be at much higher level because I'm going to have to build magic skills a lot in order to survive.

Level 10 to Trynton is supposedly what the designers targetted. I consider myself a "builder" too, but with this game, level might not be the true sign of success. Growth in the skills is probably more critical than character level in Wiz8.

Max- real men don't recruit...

Well, I have killed the Frog and have released my "kidnapped" crew member, so I am back to the point of the game where I started over. I hope that the release of Morrowind tomorrow doesn't pull me away from the game (I think it will though, because Daggerfall was one of my favorite games)

Congratilations. I hope you will not go away from this game or at least that you will return after Morrowind. No matter how good will Mor be, this is still very good game.
