Ralen Haalu murder - when did I solve it?
   

Ok, I walk around Balmora, someone mentions this guy, and after that, no one says anything if I mention his name to them. Much later I go up to house Haalu, introduce myself, his name comes up, and they say thanks for taking care of the murderer.

So when did I do this? Who is he? I've done a number of the Fighter Guild quests so far, up to collecting the debt, but I haven't killed anyone in Balmora other than the Camora Tong. Oh, yeah, I accidentally killed a trader and paid a fine. Did he kill the guy? Hmm, maybe that's it, and I "solved" it by accident? Anyone know? Thanks.

After you find the body and talk to his maid or wuteva, she gives you the keyword. Then following up on that with townsppl they point you to the actual killer - who you wiped out on the CT quest.

The murderer is one of the comma tong(?) Residents in Balmora. If you completed the quest where you were supposed to kill all the commong tong then you solved the murder case too.
