A quote from the official Gothic 2 site: 
"Der Releasetermin von Gothic II wurde auf den 29. November 2002 verschoben. Die gute Nachricht: Dieser Termin ist bombensicher, es wird keine weiteren Verschiebungen geben.  "
Which means something like: 
The release date of Gothic 2 has been pushed back to Nov. 29th 2002. The good news is: This date is "bomb-proof", there will be no further delays.
Although this is referring to the German version I am sure it is true for the English as well. 
And so the month of release has finally begun. Now it's only four weeks 'til G-Day.

To mention it in this thread too:
Release on Nov 29th <i>only</i> in the following countries:- D, A, CH
- UK
- Scandinavia
- Benelux
- Australia
JoWooD is an Austrian publisher, so I expect G2 to be available everywhere in the German language market on the mentioned street date. In other countries it could take a few days to fill the channel.

That is a heck of a push back! 
Old news. We had an own thread about this. How can a game be pushed back <i>if a date was not even announced by the publisher</i>? EB is only a retailer, not a reliable source. Would anybody order there without a shipping date?
If you want Gothic II earlier you might have to order from the UK.

The German version of Gothic was the uncensored one... the English language version was censored (if you can call adding a bikini and taking out a concert 'censoring'). So why would the German version of Gothic II be censored?
