while i was working on the morag tong quests i ended up in a daedric shine dedicated to mehrune. while there i took the time to speak with the big guy himself and he challenged me to find a blade called mehrune's razor. he told me that it is located near molag mar in the alas (or something like that) ancestor tomb. i have been all of the entire region surrounding molag mar and can't find the stinking tomb!! has anyone found this item and the location of the tomb?? is it east, west, north, south of molag mar? about how far? any directions you can offer would be DEEPLY appreciated.

okay...i think i found the answer to my initial question. about eight pages into this forum someone already asked and answered the mehrune's razor quest (sorry, i only looked at the first five pages and assumed that this was a new question). according to the other post the razor stinks for all the trouble you go through to get it. so, i am wondering...has anyone found any good knives? i want my character to be an assain type but there don't seem to be any really unique daggers. the glass jinx blades are okay but i really want something special. has anyone found anything that might make an assain smile?

I would suggest bound dagger as a main assasin weapon (I use it a lot) and there are 3 thingsyou can do:
1) I think the weapons that can cast bound dagger when used are quite common (they are Fiend's and Devils short blades) and you can use them.
2) Make an enchanted item (other than weapon) that can cast it as constant efect (it is easy to make). I used to have a shirt with all three bound helm/boots/gloves
3) CHEAT: If you donn't wanna bother cast it, drop it, and pick it up after the spell wears off
I am now training my long blade, but my good-ol bound is still my favorite. Might wanna try deadric shortsword or tanto, but they do not have the thrust damage I like.
If you want to be an assasin train your sneak and get at least chameleon 20% constant effect. |

I sorta like the razor, 12-17 damage, weakness to poising 5% for 20 secs, disintigrate armore 5-25 or something like that and 6-20 poison I think, it's pretty usable for a while.
Had to wander around down there forever though, but it feels sorta rewarding when you finally get it 
this link helped me find a couple of those hard to find dungeons that I didn't wanna waste several days finding

That thing is nice, but it doesn't have any interior Vivec locations.
