ToEE: Review @ Gamer's Hell

Gamer's Hell is next up to review The Temple of Elemental Evil. Finding it a little "specialist" for the average gamer and preferring the graphics of NWN, the score is still a reasonable 7.5/10:
Like stated before the “original” D&D doesn’t mean much to me and what started to show in character generation soon got more and more obvious as I progressed: the game is really hard and unforgiving. The rules were followed to the letter (note that e.g. NWN included many, many modifications and adoptions to make it more playable on the PC and for inexperienced players) and the game is really not intended for part-time RPG players that feel lost even in the Diablo Character sheet.

"the game is really hard and unforgiving" this guy is a complete jack-ass and has no business reviewing any game. my wife (who is in no way shape or form a gamer) polished this game off in two evenings. she watched my play it for a bit, and thought it would be fun. her gaming experience consists of pogo.com

I wouldn't say this game is 'really hard' but it is definately unforgiving. Non-RPG gamers should download the upcoming demo 1st before buying this. And some D&D knowledge is needed too, the game requires a good/decent party to play.
