Ummm...
I really like the game Im playing now, wizards and warriors. Its excellent. Except, there are lots of bugs in it that require a lot of reading about them.
The graphics are equivalent to gothic. Very well written and cool. Its a 1st person might and magic type of game. |

W&W is a good game, indeed. Graphics is nice, uhu, maybe not Gothic but certainly nice. Technically it is close to Wizardry series. Definety worth trying. |

Thank you very much for your comments and recommendations.........
I will be looking into most of them this weekend.
I have, since posting, started Baldurs Gate 1 again from the start.
The reason being that it must be 3-4 years ago since I last played it and I have forgotten most of it.
It is like playing a new game, for me. Ok, grafix arent top notch, but for me that is not a priority.
Anyway, thanks again all of you.
Regards,

Just have to echo crpgnut's recommendation of Geneforge and Avernum. Those are some great games. If you don't mind oldies, then you might want to look at getting one of the Quest for Glory games. Those were great fun. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Geneforge 2 should be available soon and I'm getting it as well, since I really enjoyed the first one, despite the retro graphics. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

If you liked Gothic, you could try Omikron - The Nomad Soul. I also second Evil Islands and Summoner. |

P.S. Has anyone any knowledge of Port Royale. I know its not strictly RPG fodder, but while I am here I might as well ask. I used to love playing Pirates on my Atari ST, or was it Amiga......... _________________ If the universe is everything, what is it expanding into ??!! |

Here's an unusual old RPG that I really enjoyed in its day: Thunderscape. It's an SSI game set in Arden. It had truly innovative fighting setup where multiple different tactics could be used by the characters, great character diversity, interesting magic and tech toys and more. I had a blast with it tho I don't know if you can get it to run on today's machines. I may try to boot it up in DosBox to see if it works. Check it out and see what I mean. |
