moddeling suggestions wanted
   

Step right up folks the cirkus has come to town ..

ok first of all i dont know what that line was about ..
but in any case as some of you might know i've started moddeling for G1 ( G2 mod may follow later )
but just so that my mind dosent go comeplitely loopy whit all my own ideas i'd like to hear a few suggestions from all of you guys and girls out therer about what you might wanna see ..

I made this topic sticky. Hopefully it will get a bit more attention. I´m not that optimistic, though. Gothic is pretty much through.

I know no1 would bother doing this much work on an so old game, but here it goes anyway
You start just the same way as in normal gothic, but apart from joining, u can later in the game form your own camp, when u have taken over the orc base. Like every 3 days there are arriving new people, and u should get as many as you can. You can choose ur own name, and maybe even armor and weapons to give the members, ofc u have a budget, so dont spend it all on good stuff for u and ur men up there, while the lower once can't defend themselves. I also want to make it so that u have to eat and drink, u have a energy bar, cinda like in the sims, but less hectic. Quests and gameplay is much the same, except quests in the newest camp .And ofc new items, like swords, armors, and ive always missed a shield in gothic, give u som resistance, and superb block. However items can be destructed, and u have to fix them, that cost the same as the value, also applies with armors and shields, not bow/crossbow, so repair often. A bigger area, first time i tought gothic world was huge, now im don't, iv'e finished one time, i did it fast, didn't travel much, but this time(second time) i i don't find areas and items i didnt in last game. Make it so huge u never get tired, nothing complicating, just simple forests. And birds, that fly and cannot be shot, the gothic world is cinda booring wiouth animals, and all animals want to kill u, and u kill them all for exp.

I think thats it, i will tell u when i remember more i want.
But do remember, i will NOT make a mod like this, just a wish, maybe i will ask santa?

ok first os all nice to see someone whit a whole bunch of nice ideas ..
but sadly most of these would require to pretty much alter the entier scripting base of gothic ..
i've heard rumors from a guy over at WOG who helped me abit whit modding so far that shileds would be possible in gothic ... how ever they aint gonna be very use full seens they would just sit there on the arm whit no animations of their own
im looking into it though cuz any intem you can add to your char at the same time is a chance for more protection
as for the rest im hopeing that we might see someof it in GIII

Then, i would like to see a light sabre from star wars, maybe even with the sounds. Or Adult Link from Zelda, with sword too.

all basic items are easy to make its just a qustion of modeling

and cook280
i am still working on soe nice bows .. but im haveing a hard time getting the animations to work but they will be done one day .. hopefully soon ..
as for the mages .. then i think the basic idea for them is to use magic rather then weapons .. but none the less i've already modeled an axe and scripted it so that you'd have to be a necro to use it ..

Hey there Uocjat.

Maybe some stuff from LOTR ? Like special char's weapons such as Gimli's axe, Narsil, Saruman's staff or something. [Maybe staffs just for show off not really for use -> and maybe some more "armor" that could be gotten without a guild at marketplace in OC, something like Digger's Trousers in Gothic.]

maybe one of the fire mages can give you the fire axe when you become a fire mage and same with the water mages(you can tell i have nothing else to do)

Thats some nice work you have there. Good Job.

I especialy like the paper hat! hehe

It would be awesome if you could list the kind of effects that you can achieve in your mods. I have some ideas but I have no idea even if they are possible or not.

E.g. can you change geometry? Can you move Large objects (Such as castles)? Can you do complex things such as animate a crumbling building?
