Download Gimp. Free, powerful, legal. The interface is a bit strange for a windows user, but you canīt have everything.
If you need an image browser with basic editing functions try ACDSee. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Dreamweaver is not a picture editing program, it's a prog to make websites.
Another free picture editing demo is available at Ulead's site (but don't expect too much... and Northchild, at least Jasc have a free demo version of PSP on their site). _________________ Jaz |

The Gimp is a pretty useful program that comes for free. |

Not sure what is it you're looking for, but to add to what other's have said...
If you're looking for a good 3D modeling program, I would suggest Wings3D. It's free and quite powerful, on top of being simple. Many professionals are swearing by it.
For 3D rendering, you may look into Yafray. It's free and it integrates with Wings3D. _________________ (@) |

Another good free 3D renderer is PoVRay. You'd better download the Moray frontend for it as well (same site) so you'll see what you're doing!
A neat free landscape renderer is Terragen. _________________ Jaz |

My 2D vote also goes in for The Gimp - (most of) the power of Photoshop for none of the price. For 3D I currently use Blender, but it's not an application that everyone will enjoy! _________________ Charlie Dobbie

The GIMP is wonderful if you can think unconventional, just like the wonderful (at least IMO) MetaCreations programs (Bryce, Painter etc.). But the latter don't have a downloadable demo nor are they free, besides, most aren't sold anymore (or were gobbled up by other companies). _________________ Jaz |

I like the little Photoshop Elements package. It uses mostly the same tool box as Photoshop and has most of the features. All it really lacks are the prepress and color matching tools. If you don't need to send your final work out for offset or web press then Elements is about the best $79.95 you can spend. |
