The Fall: US Release Candidate in March?

After an eternity in the wilderness there are good signs for a NA English release of Silver Style's 'The Fall: Last Days of Gaia', with Carsten Strehse making these comments on their forums:
A Master candidate of the US version will be send to our partner in March. That doesn't mean that the game will be available then, but we are coming closer to the final stage of development.
Note that the publisher still hasn't been revealed and, of course, no actual release date is known.

Very Good News

If folks don't know what this title is check it out! Very slick looking game.

If I recall the "hits" it took in reviews were bug related for the most part. Just like the Gothic series Europe gets the all the fun first but also all the bugs

Hey I guess there is an upside in waiting! (not really...)

Really we dont get much info, from the German language forums or interviews unless someone is kind enough to translate.

Sometimes I can get a resonable tranlation on Google for an interview, but it is much tougher for forums.

Do you feel the German release is better now or have they had patches released yet?

Do you like the game?

I think I will, based mostly on the screens so far as it seems inspired from Post Apocoliptic RPGs from the past.
I hope the story and gameplay or well done, thou if it is intended as a budget title I can handle it.

If they are at RC1, then soonest they could get it out would be 30 days, as a guess.
I almost hope it does not get released now till around June, trying to go up against Oblivion could be painful for them.

We'll get in touch with SSE and see if we can be ready for when they start releasing info. Personally, I find it odd the publisher has yet to be revealed but time will tell what the deal is.

@Acleacius, the German version is currently at v1.9, after numerous patches and a complete redo of the voiceovers - I hear it's pretty good. We already know the engine and textures have been tweaked for the English version, which should be v2.0+ .

Next patch will be 1.10 (not 2.0) as some developer stated.

2.0 will be "The Fall 2" i guess.

Not sure I follow...wasn't 1.1 the first patch released? And they are already at 1.9. Carsten told us previously the US version would be at least v2.0 or higher.

The game isn't really fun.

The quests are strange and tedious, the (German) dubbing mediocre, the setting becomes boring really fast. You have a whole team from the start, the NPCs aren't deeply developed and the controls could be better.
So far, a game I wouldn't pay €10 for. Perhaps 5.

All IMHO, of course.

1.10 as "ten", the follow-up of 9? With two digits behind the point.

I found this as a minus for an intriguing plot.
There's a reason why it's cooler when your party slowly grows, like in "Ultima VII" or "Planescape Torment". The respective NPCs don't seem so ridiculous replaceable.
