Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows Review @ Game Zone

The latest review for Gauntlet: The Seven Sorrows has been posted at Game Zone. They give it a 7.0/10.00 score.
In the end, Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows is merely a simple hack-and-slash action game that’s a worthwhile experience but it doesn’t really rise above the familiar 80s formula that made this such a classic back in the day. Yes we’ve played better games of similar genre - like Hunter: The Reckoning - but there’s a reason the original Gauntlet shows up in everything from the PSP to the Xbox 360. This is a classic that gets a slight gameplay and visual upgrade but if you’re looking for something altogether new you won’t find it here.
Read the rest of the review at Game Zone.

dumbass...

Personally I would want to play Gauntlet ONLY because its very similiar to the originals. The originals were great, anything they do to screw around with it is only attracting problems to the premise that made it so great.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the previews I was seeing of this game. Even the later console Gauntlet releases, like Dark Legends preserved the giant-swarm-of-monsters battles of the original games. From the screenshots, it looks like they've sacrificed the number of monsters to improve the graphic detail, making it like every other Fantasy action adventure out there.

played it ... and finished it, all in 1 night with my GF. It took us no more then 5 to 6h on normal difficulty, it's not a bad game, it's just oh so short but then again if it were longer it'd get a little 2 repetitive. On the bright side, you can have TONS of monsters on screen and my ps2 was still running perfectly fine, wich surprised me a lot considering the game looks pretty damn good!
