I guess it will support your card, but it will not be "ideal" .

Hi there

You might get the game running, but don't expect to see more than a slide show. Seriously consider upgrading to at least a GeForce3 - not just because of Morrowind...

Or a Radeon 8500. They are cheaper, at least here in N. America, but I am biased because I am a happy Radeon 8500 owner.

I've been happy with the Radeon, too. It seems to have issues with fewer games than my landlord's GeForce 3.

Umm I haven't had any issues with my Geforce 3 card I've had for 8 months and I've got a nice overclock running on it... Generally the NVIDIA drivers are considered better than the ATI one's but both the GF3 + 4 and Radeon 8500 are generally considered good cards with pricing being the major difference you will really see between them.

I partially disagree with this. Of course you won´t see Morrowind´s great visual f/x, but it should be fast enough if you have enough cpu power. To see everything you need a GeForce3, a real GeForce4 or a Radeon 8500.

An important point nobody in this thread mentioned yet is the dependance of cpu and graphics card. A GeForce3 or better card doesn´t really make sense in a system with less than ~1.2 GHz. (simplified) The cpu feeds the graphics card with data. If one of them is too slow you´re standing on the brakes.
A good combination is e.g. a XP1700+ and GeForce3 Ti-200.
Most games still don´t use advanced pixel- and vertex shader. Your Voodoo 5500 is fast enough for most of these games. It scales pretty good until at least (real) 1.5 GHz, so you might also want to consider upgrading your cpu.

(A short warning: Voodoo cards and Pentium 4 boards are NOT compatible. Just in case. )
