I've read the FAQs and searched the forums, but I still havent been able to find a solution. Gothic 2 played fine for the first few days, but all of a sudden came a texture problem that causes it to lock up every 10 minutes (if lucky). Its strange, because there are EGA colors; pink, blue ect pixels on everything, and it gets worse the longer I play without either restarting or it locking up and forcing me to restart. Im in chapter 4 if it might have something to do with that.
I did seem to have a similar problem with another game, that reinstalling fixed, though that didnt work for gothic 2. (I did keep the save folder though)
Im not sure but this might have something to do with having a Dell with WinME (yeah ill get rid of it sooner or later). System specs
1.7ghz p4, 512 ram, Geforce Ti4600.
This happen to anyone else or any ideas how to fix it? Repair also doesnt work, it locks up on speech.vdf if I remember right. |

Strange problem. The first time I hear about EGA-like colors.

What do you mean? Last time I installed WinME is around last May I think...
The colors happen in dots and stripes, like stripes in the sky ect
I also downloaded the latest drivers.
Bah I think I meant VGA colors, the pink, teal, yellow ones. |

Hey there Jeric,
Just a small thought, somehow sounds like the prob' is video acceration
related, have you installed the latest mobo chipset agp/inf drivers, are you
running directx 8 or 9? and lastly and MOST important, does your mobo have
an integrated chipset? what model? _________________ Forever aches my wretched soul, for Chromanin locked in that dark hole, though crypted key i've yet to learn, he knows one day i will return. |

I think itīs either a driver problem or a defective graphics card. Maybe itīs overheating. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
