I can't exactly remember but I think you have to talk to the people in the Fellowship camp (just east of Fawn) and when you go back into Fawn there will be a storm. After the storm Iolo sings for the citizens and your party is invited to meet her.

Something like that anyway...

The first time you enter Fawn with Iolo, a magical storm will make a lute appear there. He will play a song for a group of people. This sets the stage for later events.
Find Alyssand and she'll give you your magic gauntlets. Join the cause she speaks about. Zulith will be following you. Ask him for an audience with Lady Yelinda. Keep going around town talking to people. Eventually Jorvin will approach you, telling you that Iolo's masterful song has earned him an audience with Lady Yelinda. Go to the palace around noon. She'll give Iolo a diamond necklace. She and your companions go into a series of toasts. At that point, Dupre will stick his foot into his mouth.
