Release in November would set it up for the Christmas big shopping holidays.

Some want an answer and I gave my best guess. The add-on is for sale in Germany. Any retailer for English version is probably going to want the patched G2 plus Add-on together to sale as the GOLD EDITION for release in time for the CHRISTMAS shopping season.

That will be the final time; after that it will become table coaster material.

Buy the German version; let us together do the voice acting ourselves; then English patch it in with the full sub-title text. Voice patch would be around 100-200 MEG?

Then JoWood and his *&^% real reason can go &^%$ himself.

Be glad if the game even ever sees the light of day here in USA and UK.

Xerxes,

I hear ya man, and what you say makes sense. But I truly hope things don't end up that way.

We don't even need to wait for Novemeber. According to Amazon.com, G2 English has been cancelled.

That's our only hope now. So, who's who?

I just got an e-mail from Amazon telling me that Gothic 2 has been cancelled and they will not be charging my credit card.

DAMN!

Jowood is probably the stupidest moronic company ever.
I'll probably order the German version and I'll try to finish it with the translator .

Perhaps before jumping to conclusions we should just wait a little whlie longer. Like Gorath said, The fact that it has been cancelled by Amazon may only mean that it is not going to be released *by Jowood*.

This partner that they are allegedy making a distribution deal with will probably emerge shortly and the product will be orderable again with *that* company as the supplier.

Since there is apparently no information coming to retailers regarding the release, they are all responding to this blackout in different ways.

Ebgames and Gamestop both pushed the release date back several months. Amazon decided to just not list the item in the catalog.

What I am saying is that these happenings may all be temporary and things could be cleared up by the end of the next week for all we know.

So let's just give it 1 more week and see what happens.

I want this game badly too and if something doesn't happen soon, I too will take my chances with the German copy.

But the recent reports of the release in Poland and assurances by Plex over at the Jowood community that an announcement IS coming and the release IS happening, compels me to wait for just a while longer before I throw up my hands.

Few weeks ago, Plex promised that JoWooD would provide some info about the game within 2 weeks. Now, the time is over, and they still didn't say anything.

So, one more week. After that, I'll give up. Not that anybody will care, but enough is enough.

Got up early just to check the Gothic ii status (and to see that the German demo had FINALLY downloaded...with the new english subtitle translation...woohoo!) I don't remember when a game has been this exciting. People are talking about buying the German version even though they don't understand of work of it! Others talking about doing the voice work themselves. Funny stuff! However, I'm a nearly 15 year radio announcer with an ability to do multivoice characterizations and creative writing...but this looks like a lot of work. Some say the game will be outdated by the end of the year. So what?! I'm still playing Gothic 1 but I'm long way from completing it. Morrowind, Arx Fatalis and Dungeon Siege are also tiding me over.

Amazon.com has the game release date as Sept 1st, 2003. Since it's jumped around so much...this is probably why this big company cancelled preorders. This item doesn't mean as much to them as it does to us. Try RE-preordering. I ordered mine with gogamer.com. $34.95 + shp. Release date 8/15/03.

No...

JoWooD hasn't announced that they got a distributor yet, so it's still uncertain how, where, and when Gothic is gonna be released.

Noone really knows when is the release date. The dates posted by reseller sites are only speculation. There's no reason to totally rely on them.

P.S. omg... 100 posts... I think I spam the forum too much...

Oh well.....

Honestly, even though things are looking rather sketchy right now, I will still buy it whenever it comes out. Trust me, I'm just as dissapointed as the rest of you guys, but this game looks too good to pass up just because JoWood are being a bunch of tools.

At least Morrowind: Bloodmoon is coming out next month to tide me over for a while.

Also, it seems that the Gothic2.com site is down right now beyond the initial page with the English / German language selection. Possible update? For JoWoods sake, I hope so.
