Since this game is not commercially available (to my knowledge) how about asking them to release it as freeware (as sierra did with Betrayal at Krondor for the release of Betrayal at Antara)......lets bump this request hmmmmmmm _________________ The majority are not always right |

The game is still commercially available. Go to www.the-underdogs.org and look at it. I think Bethesda themselves still sell it through by mail order. Sorry, no free way to get it yet my friend _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

Why do I think the IDSA was put together by a group of spoilt managers. I can picture the seen at the meeting:-
Suit 1: So there are sites on the web giving our games away for free
Suit 2: Yes
Suit 1: So they are software pirates
Suit 2: Not exactly as we don't make the games anymore
Suit 1: Because they weren't popular?
Suit 2: Some of them but mainly very old games
Suit 1: But they had really bad graphics and we can't sell them anymore
Suit 2: Hmm yes so shall we let them distribute these as abondonware?
Suit 1: Do they make any money?
Suit 2: Er... No
Suit 1: Still if they public are willing to pay us then they should suffer so no we'll send threatening letters to all these small websites instead
Suit 3: Excellent - would you like a job at Microsoft?
Sorry about this but I support the people at sites like the Underdogs as they are not trying to be pirates or warez kiddies but are just games fans trying to breath a little history into the games industry. _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

You don't have to be sorry really. As sarcastic as your little meeting depiction was, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it was very close to reality. I totally agree with you on this. In any case, there comes a time when a publisher will not be able to sell a product through anymore, even though the moment they release it as abandonware it would be downloaded like crazy. _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=
