I'm a great fan of the comics and Frank Miller's style, which is why I got reservations regarding this movie. But luckily it delivers. It feels like you're reading the comics, and the experience is really weird. You know you're watchin movie but in a way you're not. The visual style is just so special that it really makes you forget that they are actors you're watching, not comicbook characters. Can't wait to get my hands on the DVD.

Well-made in terms of sheer filmaking, but gratuitously violent. Even if that's the nature of the comic book, doesn't make it easy or enjoyable to watch as a flick - for me, anyway. The movie was kinda "adolescent" - over the top blood guts n' gore, women objectified as sex slaves ... All just seemed like some teenager's fantasy.

On the other hand, Mickey Rourke and Benicio Del Toro were great, and captured the atmosphere and character of the movie better than anybody. Clive Owen seemed a strange and not particularly good choice, though I generally like him. Bruce Willis is cool.

Anyway, not a movie I need to see again.
