The control system for Gothic really is a love or hate thing. At first it seemed somewhat cumbersome to me (especially the inventory). After a while though, I found it a nice change from the combat styles found in the BG or Diablo style games, which I had been playing before.
I still think the atmosphere of Gothic is fantastic. Good to see you folk have turned another onto the right path. _________________ “Everyone’s a girl when they’re face down.” |

For all the people asking for demo: FORGET IT!!
It doesent actualy give u the taste of the game. Ok, u can see the graphics, controls, and things like this. But i know a lot of people who gave up gothic at the beginning for "stupid controls". They r not stupid, just different from other games. And when u get used to them they work perfectly. But the demo is not good enough to get used to them. The other thing that makes gothis so good is the atmosphere, the way u fall into the story. U cant get that from demo either. So my suggestion to all newbies (and even more to newbie wannabees) is: Get the real thing (doesent meatter g1 or g2, u ll play both) and dont give up after 30 mins of play. Just stick to it, be carefull, think that u r still weak and the monsters or NPCs u cant kill will still be there later when u r much stronger than now. Before u know it u ll fall ito the game. _________________ No sig for now
