| Help with tax collector quest |
|
Does anyone know how to trigger the tax collector quest in the first town. Does it have something to do with finding a dead body??? I only know of the quest throught the forums so any more info would be appreciated.

A couple of people in town will tell you he's disappeared, and then you find his body near the town. Collect his stuff, and then report his death to the person in the office where you first disembarked at the beginning of the game. YOu can lie about what you found on the tax collector's body if you like. There is another person in town you can talk to about the tax collector once you've found him. |

Ask about "latest rumors". I think that's what you have to do. I don't think it's available when you first land, but I went back a couple levels later and completed it.

It's there from the beginning. Here's a step by step solution to get the most reward out of it:
Talk to Fargoth about latest rumor.
Find the body west of Seyda Neen.
Report to the office.
Say that you found the money.
Talk to Fargoth again about the murder.
Go to the lighthouse, talk to the lady in there.
Go to the hut where the suspect lives.
Kill him.
Report back to the office, get the 500 gold reward.
Keep the ring and sell it
That's for the greedy amongst us

Actually, you don't have to talk to Fargoth(sp) or the lady in the lighthouse. All you have to do is find the body and report/return gold to the old man in the office. Then go to the hut and kill the murderer, then talk to the old man again for the 500 gold + and place to rest and store your stuff. |
