Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - Preview @ RPGFan |
|
And you thought they were all finished...RPGFan has a new preview of Oblivion:
This time around, though, the quests seem more varied and reasonable than in Morrowind, which often boiled down to either "kill this person" or "find this item." A perfect example of the improvement is one quest where I was asked to keep tabs on where a person was going. I had to be at a certain location at a certain time, and just watch where the NPC went in her day. And with the Radiant AI allowing NPCs to go about their days in different ways, randomly talking to other characters on various topics, the quest isn't exactly scripted the way most of Morrowind's were. Of course, there are still quests where you have to kill a person or fetch an item, but it's refreshing to know that those aren't my only option.
|

Oblivion will be the game that finally pushes me to get a new computer capable of running it seamlessly. _________________ The biggest rocks are but grains of sand to an ocean. |

Ultima 6 made me buy a new PC.
It only came on 3 1/2 inch disks, more than 16 if I recall. My PC only had 5 1/4 inch disk drives. |

Yeah this is one game we actually get to test are computer power the only other game that really tested its power was Doom 3 but i dont think it will be as optimized and polished as Oblivion.
I'm actually more interested paranoid and curious about how the game is gonna run on my system when its out i'll post my specs and what frame rates i get i hope their is console commands to display the FPS.
But the good thing about an rpg you dont need a constant 60fps to play it normally because for walking running exploring using swords and arrows there wont be much of a difference then in 60fps.
But in a game where you shoot you can really tell because 30fps the guns shoot alot slower and feels all choppy and like you're in bullet time mode |
