How do you access Kill Troll quest in Divine Divinity?

In the unofficial manual it says talk to farm land people to get the quest. I talked to everyone including a woman who directed me to reginald who lost his son to the trolls but reginald did not enable me to start the quest. Is it because I failed toms quest of the missing cow meat being stolen by not turning in the cow theif or am I misssing something or not talking to the right people. I can easily kills the trolls and troll king near the bridge but who am I missing talking to, to activate the quest I need the experience. Also great website and forum for people who love divine divinity as much as me. I cant wait to beat it and start on beyond divinity. Thank you.
