The beginning
   

in the demo how do I beat up that first guard that I come across? with just a bone he nails me right quick.....don't know how to defeat him.

But it is long time since I playd demo.

OK, you have to charge the attack you want to do (do you see the attack-indicator? more brighty is and more powrfull your attack is!) and then you need to run against the guard, release the left-mouse-button, hitting him, and then run away while you recharge the attack and dodging his attack! Do this a couple of time at the full power and he's down!
