I'm glad you will be here more often. What're your new PC specs? |

Haha, how true!
It's a customized HP Pavilion zd8000.
1 Gig of ram (I wanted 2 gigs but they stopped that offer shortly before I bought it)
256MB ATI Mobility Radeon x600
And of course, wireless networking w/ bluetooth, huge screen and some other junk _________________ If soot stains your tunic, dye it black. This is vengeance.

You don't need 2 gig, none of the existed games or those in the near future uses so many ram, you won't notice the difference between 1 or 2 gig. The same with the 256 Mb video card, I als have 256 but most games only use 128 and then switch to Ram.
You processor will sooner be outdated than the 1 gig of Ram if you ask me. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Too bad you chose a X600 video card, it's only a PCI-Express version of the old Radeon 9600, so it doesn't really match your CPU very well. _________________

I wanted an X800 but HP wasn't offering them. The only laptops I found w/ the option of an X800 were Alienware but those were too spendy for me. As it is the X600 is doing a more than decent job in my opinion. _________________ If soot stains your tunic, dye it black. This is vengeance.

I chose a laptop so it's easy to bring with me when I travel. (Specifically on a submarine) _________________ If soot stains your tunic, dye it black. This is vengeance.

OK, for a laptop a X600 isn't bad at all, IMO. _________________

I just built a new Athlon 64 3000+ system.
It's a true 64-bit computer with an effective FSB of 2,000 mHz. It's running 1 gig of dual-channel PC3200, 8 channel sound, SATA RAID, IDE RAID, and is powered by my 530W ASPIRE power supply. I've got a standard DVD-ROM, and a dual-layer DVD burner sitting on top of it.
The video card is a MSI 6600GT, and to top things off, I've got a custom case and some new Logitec 6 channel speakers. It makes me quite happy. |
