The hope still lives on for the English release then, I see. At least if it comes to the worst and Atari have ruined it all for you, you can still play it thanks to the fine folk behind the "Translation Mod". They seem to have put a lot of work into it and still are. With all the speech in subtitles you can read that and try to guage the feelings from the German voices. It isn't perfect, but it is a lot better than nothing.

I think they will release an English ver. of NoTR. G3 is still a long way out and the release of an English NoTR would do two things…give them extra cash from an already released product and help to increase exposure of the Gothic world. If it was me…I would do a Platinum bundle of G I, II and NoTR giving new comers full exposure to the story line and pumping the rest of us up for the upcoming release of G III…not like we really need it. I am just finishing up on my second play of G II…as a Mage…nice story. Going to save Paladin for NoTR…if it is released. If not…I’ll start playing Paladin when G III is released. Should finish by the time G III English is released.

Gorath & Jaz…how’s things going? Long time no post…I see you guys are still whipping everyone in line…

Hi!

JoWooD cut a deal with the G1 publisher. An all in one package is announced for Germany early next year. Sounds logical, full price in march, budget in September and G3 no 1 in the charts next Christmas.

I heard an interesting rumor: somebody said he was at JoWooD official shareholder´s meeting this year. When asked about the international G2 disaster the CFO apparently said that JoWooD bought all Gothic rights back from Atari in early summer.

Chekote…head shots are such a mess to clean up. You sure you don’t want to change your mind? I mean save it?

Gorath...JoWood owns everything? Didn't JoWood release the UK ver. of G II?

Hey Jaz...I hope that is some good German Brew you got there...like a fine Weisse maybe.

Went digging and look what I found over at JoWooD...

"2004-11-03
About Englisch NOTR

We have no idea, but we are only the developer and the decision makes JoWooD or ATARI. We hope it will come soon.

PS: We are still developing."

Obviously a PB statement…

I've been away for months and still no NotR, so in my opinion we can better move on to G3 or other games to keep us satisfied untill G3, because that addon isn't going anywhere.

I've learned that about Jowood, because it's not only with gothic.
Does anybody when it's a year after the release of the german release of NotR, because also G2 english was released a year after the german G2.

There is plenty of time for an English release of NoTR. Besides…why would JoWood spend the time and money for an English conversion of NoTR only to trash it in the end? I don’t see it…but I could be wrong.

Since it wasnt mentioned yet, the date on the Gamerstats says 12/31/2005 that is 1 year, 9 days from now.

If JoWood ever gets their sh*t together (yeah im bitter ) and gets something released I doubt it will be at the same time as G3.

Not to be a wet blanket but didn't we go through all this "Hey I heard it's coming out next month!!" or "I know a guy who knows a guy who works at Atari who heard that it will be out soon," and blah blah months ago? I don't think it will ever come out coz that would mean Atari do something sensible and we all know they don't do that!

This is my prediction.

Jowood will release an English "Gold Edition" with Gothic 2 & the Addon approximately 6 months before the launch of G3.

The purpose will be to familairze gamers with the Gothic brand before the crown jewel of Gothic 3 hits the stores.

The Gold ediition will contain trailer for Gothic 3 in the box just to make sure gamers KNOW it is coming out.

The whole package will sell for a budget $19.99 ...
